Гражданский форум ЕС-Россия ищет редактора для ежеквартального двуязычного онлайн-журнала Civic Perspectives on Rights and Law. В задачи сотрудника будет входить участие в создании концепции издания, подборе релевантных тем, поиске авторов и других сотрудников для проекта, написании небольших вводных заметок.

От кандидата ожидают владения английским, наличия релевантного опыта и знания тем журнала. Издание с юридическим уклоном, так что соответствующий бэкграунд будет плюсом. Оплата — €1000 за каждый выпуск (указано, что это эквивалентно пяти рабочим дням). Работа удалённая, но потребует несколько командировок в Европу.>

We are looking for experienced and motivated editor for the establishment of a bilingual (Russian-English) quarterly online-journal "Civic Perspectives on Rights and Law" about national and supranational legislation and legal practices relevant for NGO work in Russia and EU countries as part of the CSF programme “EU-Russia Legal Dialogue”.
The diverse foreseen journal sections will enable i.a. analysing the role and meaning of international legal frameworks, continuous observation and reaction on relevant legal developments in Russia and the EU/ EU countries, spread of best practices among civil society actors and legal experts or finding partners for common projects.
Journal sections discussed so far:
• Expert articles on selected guiding themes and case studies (e.g. implementation of ECtHR judgements);
• In the spotlight: NGO legislation in one specific country;
• Chronicle: current legal developments in Russia and the EU/EU-member states;
• Conference reports;
• Presentations of new civil society initiatives or creative working formats (i.e. Legislative theatre);
• Announcements of upcoming events and calls for experts or project partners.
The range of issues within the new journal will be as diverse as the fields of activity of the civil society (to get a first impression please have a look at the last year’s publication “Voices from Civil Society”). Each journal issue will be disseminated broadly via the Internet. In addition to this, some printed copies will be distributed at CSF events, presented at international conferences and given to relevant decision-makers during advocacy meetings. In 2016, three issues are foreseen.
Job description
• Time period: 01.5 – 31.12.2016
• Honorarium: 1.000 euro per issue (equivalent of five working days)
• Place: home-based position; obligatory participation in two editorial meetings – first one in Berlin on May 30-31st
• Elaboration of the journal concept together with the project leader and project team
• Selection of guiding themes of three issues in 2016 together with the project leader and project team
• Assistance in finding of authors and editorial work in cooperation with the authors
• Drafting of introductory articles
• Communication with translators, layouters and proof-readers
Requirements
• Proven experience in editorial work (ideally online press), incl. conceptual development
• Excellent written and spoken English and Russian
• Familiarity with and understanding of the topic(s)
• Legal education would be an advantage
• Time flexibility
